How long does it take for my writer to complete my new resume?

On average, it takes around 3-5 business days for our writers to write your resume once they’ve got a chance to learn about your background. Turnaround time may be longer depending on the complexity of the client’s resume and work history.

Will I be able to edit the new resume I receive?

Yep – like any resume you that you may write yourself, you’ll be able to make edits to your resume as you see fit. The resume will be sent to you as a .docx which is the file format used in Microsoft Word.

How many revisions do you offer?

Yes, your writer will be happy to provide as many revisions as needed for up to 10 business days. This revision period begins when you receive a copy of your newly crafted resume.

Do your writers work with clients from my industry?

Most likely yes. Our team of resume writers cover all the major industries out there. However, if you have a non-traditional job such as dog walker, we likely won’t have anyone with extensive experience in that field.

Do you write resumes for people making a career change?

Yes, our team often works with clients who are jumping between different industries or are just re-entering the workforce. These factors are part of the reason why the resume writing process can be extremely confusing for the average job seeker.

Do you write ATS-optimized resumes?

Yes – many of our writers have firsthand experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and will be writing your resume with these applicant trackers in mind. Our team only use resume designs that are compliant with applicant trackers and also focus on including keywords and content that applicant trackers will be looking for when scanning through applications.

Is a resume writing service worth the investment?

This depends on your unique circumstance. How confident are you in your resume? Are you struggling to secure job interviews? Do you have an extensive work history that’s difficult to summarize? All of these factors are important to consider. How will I communicate with my writer?

Communication can happen via email and/or phone. Generally your writer will reach out to you after you’ve filled out the initial intake form to schedule a 1-on-1. You may also request to speak via Zoom or Google Meet if preferred.

A very strict criteria is set for who is qualified to join our team of professional resume writers. Every writer on our team is based in the US and must have over a decade of experience in their respective field. Roughly 2% of resume writers who apply to us are accepted and are closely monitored for each client they work with.

What happens during the 1-on-1 consultation with my writer?

The 1-on-1 consultation gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may in regard to the resume writing process. From going through your career form, your writer may also request more information from you in regards to your job history and what your current goals are with your career. While many other resume services skip this part of the process, we find it to be an integral step towards learning more about our clients’ backgrounds so that our writers can write the best resumes possible for them.

Does your resume service write CVs too?

The overwhelming of our clients come to us wanting a resume instead of a CV. While our writers do have experience working with CVs as well as resumes, our general focus is on resumes. We’d estimate that 5% of our clients want a CV written instead of a resume.

How does the LinkedIn Profile Creation work?

A LinkedIn profile consists of different sections – About, Experience, Education, Skills, Header, etc. Your resume writer will create content for each of these sections to build your LinkedIn from the ground up.
